This place just nails it on all key points for a restaurant - ambiance, quality, service, and value. Rae Rae's is diner food with some nice twists that is served quickly and with a smile, tastes good and leaves some jingle in the pocket. The place is clean and attractive with adequate parking. And I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup, the final requirement for a diner to haul down all five stars. Recommended.

I keep coming back here and it keeps getting better. I'll be honest, I almost don't even want to re write this review because I don't want it to be too busy where I can't come in and sit down within 15 minutes of getting here. It's good people and good food. You can tell they care, they'll go the extra step to try and make you happy. The country eggs Benedict is bomb and always ask what their special is because if it's lobster Benedict, you're getting that. Trust me. One note as a coffee person, the coffee here is really good. Not watered down and a puts a pet in your step, which Iove. I want to say I'm shocked that this place isn't busier, but I'm not, it's still a little hidden gem, but if you find it, you won't regret it. I mentioned this last time but the prices are more than fair. Like $8 for eggs Benedict are, hell yes. Cheers everyone

I would like to preface this review by stating that I never give 5 stars for places I haven't visited on more than one occasion. Otherwise, this would get 5 stars. The price, the food, the location and the cleanliness each deserve a star in themselves. This was my first time in St. Pete and we had a LOT of options for places to eat. This stuck out because of the menu items. I know what you're thinking, "How hard could it be to mess up breakfast food?" Well, its pretty easy as I've come to find. We were given the option to sit in a booth or at the bar, we chose the bar. We were immediately given coffee whilst we looked through the menu. I went with the Veggie Benny (vegetarian eggs Benedict) , my BF chose the country fried steak and we split 2 chocolate chip pancakes. The order came out in under 20 minutes, everything was perfectly made and seasoned. FYI: although it only mentions regular pancakes on the menu you have the option to customize the order. The service was pretty good, our server was attentive. Even when we needed something and she wasn't close by, the other servers were very quick to jump in and assist in any way they could. This place had a very 'hometown' vibe. Next time I'm in town I will be stopping by again!

Awesome breakfast place with a huge variety of items. Coke fountain soda. Fresh hot coffee. Huge roomy booths, clean, and quick! There's a bar for those who wish to eat at a "diner" setting. Our party ordered oatmeal with fresh fruit-- fabulous! Served with heavy whipping cream, raisins, and brown sugar. Eggs, bacon, grits and toast- grits were prefect! Huge portion of bacon and a scrambled egg. Create your own omelette. Picked cheese, bacon and avocado, home fries, toast and fresh fruit. Everything was prefect and full of flavor!!! Loved the idea of adding avocado to my eggs. The server was friendly and attentive to our table. She brought a kids cup with a lid, crayons and a coloring book for my daughter. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to dining again very soon!

Scrumptious! I had the veggie Benedict which was perfectly balanced and made. This paired with some cheese grits was already mind blowing. However, I was thrown into a catatonic state after sharing my boyfriends pancake, which is like any I've ever had. If the foods not enough to to convince you the atmosphere will. The decor is timeless and modern and family is most important. By far the breakfast spot in St. Pete!

My son took me out for Mother's Day breakfast!! This was the second time here.. The food was excellent and so was the service!! I ordered the lobster Bennie but they gave me the wrong order by accident.. Which was no big deal I just got 2 breakfast for the price of one! They also gave all the mothers roses for Mother's Day! That was so nice! My son ordered biscuits & gravy with grilled biscuits which was excellent as well and they're home fries are to die for!! Definitely will be back!;)

I'm still liking Rae Rae's. The build your own omlet is a sweet deal: a choice of three ingredients, grits or homefries, and toast with coffee is under $10. Just note that the homefry seasoning is a little salty, but you can ask for them to go little or leave it off all together. I'm hoping they are going to get some pictures on the walls to warm the look up a little. It's clean and the servers are very friendly. Nicci, I look forward to seeing the neon on the wall.

The breakfast is always great here! We were seated quickly, the waitresses are so friendly and the price is right!!! I will be back again! One of St Petersburg's best kept secrets!!

We went for the first time saturday and kn Oooooo w we 'll definately be back.food was delicious even the coffee was good.

I can't say enough good things about this place ! Not just the food but the amazing service . Always with smiles on their faces . I requested a bacon covered pancake and they made it for me ! This place is the best ! Best bacon I have ever had. Their home fries are to die for ! Family owned and operated ! Gotta love it .
(5)Laurie L.
Excellent biscuits and gravy, eggs made perfectly over medium, bottomless coffe, and great atmosphere, friendly service with great recommendations...I couldn't ask for more!! Thank you Rae Rae's!
(5)Cara P.
Very friendly servers and a very cute restaurant! My husband and I were in a hurry and our food came out very fast. We order home style potatoes, French toast, pancakes, eggs and sausage. It was absolutely delicious. The only thing I would suggest is getting a thicker syrup but other than that the food was great along with the service.
(4)Linda C.
Rae Rae's is a small treasure on Central Avenue. We drive from NE St. Pete to eat breakfast there. Their food is fresh and the portions are huge. I love their oatmeal served with fresh fruit, brown sugar and milk. Their grits are the best in town and we were told they were made with cream. I've eaten lunch there a couple times and found lunch to be great but you can't beat the breakfast menu.
(5)Darius D.
Fantastic breakfast spot in St Pete. One french toast, one fluffy buttermilk pancake, 2 eggs, seasoned thin sliced potatoes, one homemade sausage patty, and a coffee... How much you say for farm fresh flavor and homemade everything? $12? $10? How about $6.75! Friendly service too. Family business.
(5)Marisa L.
Amazing breakfast! The servers were super friendly and polite. The atmosphere was great! A large breakfast for a reasonable price.
(5)Mike G.
Been in here a few times and the food is great. I love the steak and cheese sub so much I haven't tried anything else, lol.
(5)Bond G.
Really good food, great, friendly service and great prices. Lots of regular locals. Not tons of seating so you might have to wait a few minutes. I got the "Have It All" and my husband got the "Homemade Hash" and we were not disappointed.
(5)Alexa S.
Food was good. Service was great. Felt like family even though I was eating solo at the bar. Lots of large families having a blast.
(4)Bridget L.
Yummy!!! DEEEELISHHHHH!!!! Best breakfast EVER. French toast was fluffy but still light. Omelette was tasty - not heavy or greasy or runny. Broccoli was crisp to perfection. Prices were more than fair and service was excellent! People eating in there were pleasant and friendly. Will be back regularly!!!
(5)Valerie K.
I used to come here once in awhile when it was Nicks but have to say, who ever took over and changed it to Rae Rae's did a great job! Love the new look, the bar area is looks great and best of all, the food was great and extremely cheap!! Service was amazing, our waitress Eliza was the nicest, most pleasant server we have had in a long time, she smiled the whole time!! Definitely coming back!!
(5)Paul R.
This place is a awesome addition to my favorite breakfast spots. The husband and wife team have really figured out what people want and enjoy. Looking forward to many mornings at this joint
(5)Stef K.
The absolute best meal ive had in a long while. The owner makes the best hash from scratch with pastrami; to die for! EVERYTHING ON MY PLATE WAS DELICIOUS and finished! This place is a must visit!
(5)Jim K.
Went there for lunch. The table wasn't clean and had chipped paint. There was dried up egg yoke on the edge of the table. The waitress kept calling me "young man" despite my being 66. I didn't care for that or her asking if my wife gave me the money to pay the tab. I also had one instruction--serve my burger without a bun. It came on a bun in a basket--it would have been easier to eat if it were served on a plate without the bun. The food was properly cooked and tasted fine. There are too many good restaurants in the area--I won't be back.

Was visiting a friend for the weekend with a couple of other friends. We went here for breakfast before heading out to the beach. I ordered the custom omlettes with veggies. I must say the omlette was really really good, probably the best I have had! The side of house made potatoes was great! It was spiced ti perfection and most importantly was not fried which is something I like. Their black coffee was heavenly. I'm a huge fan of this place!
(5)Roxann R.
Don't let the outside of this place stop you. It has a great atmosphere inside. The breakfast menu has some good options on it. Great service and food.
(5)Dan G.
Delicious! I had the country benny. It hit the spot. The biscuit was fresh, the bacon super crisp, the sausage patties were nice and thick and cooked the perfection. The chef accidentally cracked the yolk on one of my eggs while topping the plate with sausage gravy and came out to offer me another egg. They're obviously using quality ingredients. Giant added bonus, a larger than standard size cup of coffee!
(5)P M.
After visiting several times...I am starting to get the vibe of the place. The people are awesome and genuine. The food is consistently great. I've now had the eggs Benedict - which was superb... The chicken fried steak - amazing... Eggs over easy - cooked to perfection... BLT - rocked... Family friendly... And down to earth people. When I asked to change out the potatoes with tomatoes... "We can do that...we have the ingredients!" Service with a smile...
(5)Sarah K.
Great place! Nice little modern diner. Good vibe! I loved the food. Had the Veggie Benny with grits. I prefer my grits to be flavored with cheese but these were made right even though they came out Plain Jane. The pancakes were a good texture and very large. I would go here for those flapjacks before anywhere else around town. The coffee was great! Not too bitter or acidic. It was made right. Service was very friendly and we had a great time! Bottom line: Go here if you want a quaint diner experience with great food. Good for kids and family, this could be your weekend breakfast spot for sure!

If I could, I think I'd actually rate this more like a 3.5 stars, but I don't believe it deserves 3. To begin, the servers are sweet. I'm terrible because I don't usually catch my servers names, but coming to this place, there is definitely the sense that you will be looked after. We came with our friends, two days in a row. Why, if I'd only give it 3.5 stars, price points. The food that's being offered, I wouldn't say is mind blowing breakfast, but it's good, consistent, descent portions, and priced appropriately. The morning we went, they were featuring donuts from The Hole Donut, delicious! Following this, there were orders for French toast, homemade hash, pancakes, and omelets. I do not believe any one had any complaints about the food. The French toast is described as thickly sliced bread. Do not get thickly sliced confused with Texas sized toast. The bread honestly reminded me of bread I'd use at home. I'm not saying this was not good, I enjoyed it. If you have young kids, this restaurant is very accommodating, and family friendly. They offer a cute Mickey Mouse pancake, that my 3 year old niece devoured, and she's very picky when it comes to eating out. So this was a huge surprise that she ate the whole pancake. Is this on my, I've got to rush to come here again? No. But if I'm looking for an honestly priced, tastes good, reminds me of what I'd make at home, but don't feel like cooking . . . Then I'd come here.
(4)Amber H.
The food and service was absolutely impeccable at this little hipster hole in the wall. It was a combination of a diner and a fancy breakfast restaurant. Sweet tea is made to order, with homemade simple syrup incorporated into every glass. The only downfall I experienced was the long wait time, but when my food came out,it was so good that it was worth the wait.
(4)Janet R.
So good. I had the country benny which is two poached eggs over sausage bacon cheese on top of fresh baked biscuits and gravy with a side of home fries. It was fantastic. My wife had the "have it all" which is two eggs bacon grits a pancake and side of fresh toast. She said it was awesome too. They use fresh maple syrup and real butter, which we love. I wish ninjas taken a photo of before I ate it but this is the best I've got. We love it there.
(4)Jeremy K.
Went for the first time on a Saturday. Just passed by it so decided to stop in for breakfast. Probably one of the better breakfast spots I have tried. We were seated pretty quickly and the servers seemed to be very attentive. The prices were great as well and the portions were pretty big. Had one of the eggs Benedicts which was amazing. Havent had the lunch menu but if it compares at all to the breakfast it will be great.
(5)Michelle P.
Great little breakfast/brunch place. There was 4 of us that went was very happy and very full after our meal. Service was top notch and food was so delish! We had the french toast,
(5)Sarah H.
Best breakfast in town! Gluten free options which is a nice plus for people with wheat allergies. Friendly, family atmosphere.
(5)Darwin S.
Rae Rae's is the epitome of great St. Pete local eats. Good fresh food at a great price. Came here for breakfast with small children and the kids enjoyed the pancakes and the bacon is perfection. Very cute place, semi-hipster and No diner feel here.
(5)Joe Q.
The eggs Benny is awesome! Give this place a try, the food is great, the staff is all friendly and happy. Great way to start your day.
(5)Brian H.
Biscuits and gravy oh my! Ask about the daily specials! This used to be Nicks for 20 years!
(5)Trey K.
This place is awesome!! Had the country Benny my first time in here, based on the waitress' decision and it paid off! Their home fries are good but you gotta add onions to make em pop. Food presentation is excellent! It is reasonably priced and great coffee! This is truly a gem in St. Pete!!
(5)Kansas R.
Eggs Benedict was very overdone. Over hard in fact, all four orders, my bacon was either freezer burnt or putrid. Service and staff were friendly. And compt one meal. I won't be coming back, VERY disappointing after reading such great reviews.
(1)Kendrick F.
Cool little breakfast and lunch spot tucked away in an unassuming little strip mall that's easy to miss. But once inside theirs a certain charm that I really dig. Nice and colorful decor, big coffee mugs, and a modern look that I wasn't expecting upon entering. The food was better than I thought it would be and not very expensive to boot. I went with a special of the day which was a hangover omelette with corned beef hash and a from scratch hollandaise sauce on top that was excellent. The home fries were perfectly cooked and just like my grandmother used to make them! The only disappointment was my pancakes. They were talked up to be the best in town, but left me a little disappointed. Guess the hype couldn't deliver as I could name at least two breakfast spots in town that beat them in both consistency and chew, but they still tasted good and we're a nice end to an excellent meal. I will be back!

I came here last week while visiting my family in Florida. What a great place for breakfast! We dined around 8:30am on a Saturday and we were seated right away. The place got busier and busier as we enjoyed our meals. I should mention too that the service is wonderful, sincere, friendly, and welcoming. Owners Nicci and Dodge have done a terrific job with their cozy, welcoming, family restaurant! Keep it up!

This is a good, neighborhood breakfast spot. I liked the biscuits and gravy and the staff was very friendly. Eat here, you will probably like it.

If you're looking for a delicious breakfast for a fair price, look no further, Rae Rae's Cafe in St. Petersburg has everything you need and is the perfect breakfast spot for any occasion. Rae Rae's is as close to home cooking as it gets. They have a very friendly staff, delicious food, and a menu that leaves nothing to be desired. Whether it's biscuits and gravy and or eggs Benedict you're looking for Rae's Rae's has it. Belgium waffles topped with fresh fruit, Farm fresh eggs omelettes, and homemade hash, the list goes on. Oh, and do yourself a favor and try the home fires, they're always delicious. My personal favorite's are the biscuits and sausage gravy, and the eggs Benedict, of which there are a few varieties to choose from. The gravy is the best that I have ever had in a restaurant or in someone's home, as a sausage gravy connoisseur I have often been let down when I order biscuits with sausage gravy from a restaurant. Many places simply refuse to take the time to make the gravy the correct way, often times using a premade substitute that comes in a plastic pouch. Rae Rae's gravy is something to be admired, the flavor and texture is incredible along with the consistency. For me it's everything I've ever wanted in a sausage gravy. Rae Rae's is a food lovers restaurant. I encourage anyone and everyone that enjoys a good breakfast spot to give Rae's Rae's a try. If you've heard of, or been to places like Stella's and want a comparison, there is none. If you're looking for food made with love, you've found it. Cheers!
(5)Daryl Y.
Solid breakfast experience. Promptly greeted / seated. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was good but "homemade" hash left me questioning if it was actually made in house? It's as if they took canned hash and tried to jazz it up a bit with a few potatoes and raw onions. It was a fail. Otherwise everything my family of 4 had was tasty and satisfying. D.
(4)Erin D.
Great little diner type restaurant! Clean and fresh food, with fun specials. Not a very big place but great atmosphere and sweet servers.
(5)Mark S.
For a small little place, they make a real good breakfast.I'am a hard critic on breakfast.,Been to Rae Rae's twice now and the service is great and the food comes out hot.The only thing they need to change is there ketchup. My new best keep secret place.

The absolute best meal ive had in a long while. The owner makes the best hash from scratch with pastrami; to die for! EVERYTHING ON MY PLATE WAS DELICIOUS and finished! This place is a must visit!
